چکیده

Abstract We report the results of video observations tiny (diameter less than 100 m) near-Earth objects (NEOs) with Tomo-e Gozen on Kiso 105 cm Schmidt telescope. The rotational period a asteroid reflects its dynamical history and physical properties since smaller are sensitive to Yarkovsky–O’Keefe–Radzievskii–Paddack (YORP) effect. carried out 60 NEOs at 2 fps from 2018 2021 successfully derived periods axial ratios 32 including 13 fast rotators s. fastest rotator found during our survey is 2020 HS$_\mathsf {7}$ 2.99 statistically confirmed that there certain number in NEO population, which have been missed all previous surveys. discovered distribution diameter (D–P) diagram truncated around 10 truncation flat-top shape not explained well by either realistic tensile strength or suppression YORP meteoroid impacts. propose dependence tangential effect potentially explains observed pattern D–P diagram.

Near - Earth Objects

Because the NEO population is constantly evolving and being replenished from the main asteroid belt and cometary reservoirs, it consists of objects with a variety of compositions and internal structures. These objects present unique opportunities for future planetary science goals and exploration. In order to realize these opportunities for future NASA studies, an expanded program for NEO disco...

Radar Observations of Near-earth

Much useful information about physical and dynamical properties can be obtained from radar observations of near-Earth asteroids (NEAs) that come within reach of 1 Resolution of echoes in Doppler frequency and/or time groundbased radar telescopes . delay can be used to synthesize 1-D or 2-D images that show a target’s size, shape and rotation. Disc-integrated measurements also have value, becaus...

Origin and Evolution of Near-Earth Objects

Asteroids and comets on orbits with perihelion distance q < 1.3 AU and aphelion distance Q > 0.983 AU are usually called near-Earth objects (NEOs). It has long been debated whether the NEOs are mostly of asteroidal or cometary origin. With improved knowledge of resonant dynamics, it is now clear that the asteroid belt is capable of supplying most of the observed NEOs. Particular zones in the ma...

Crypto for Tiny Objects

This work presents the first known implementation of elliptic curve cryptography for sensor networks, motivated by those networks’ need for an efficient, secure mechanism for shared cryptographic keys’ distribution and redistribution among nodes. Through instrumentation of UC Berkeley’s TinyOS, this work demonstrates that secret-key cryptography is already viable on the MICA2 mote. Through anal...

Thermal infrared observations of near - Earth asteroid 2002 NY 40 ⋆

We obtained N-band observations of the Apollo asteroid 2002 NY40 during its close Earth fly-by in August 2002 with TIMMI2 at the ESO 3.6 m telescope. The photometric measurement allowed us to derive a radiometric diameter of 0.28±0.03 km and an albedo of 0.34±0.06 through the near-Earth asteroid thermal model (NEATM) and a thermophysical model (TPM). The values are in agreement with results fro...
